Step 1:  Register with the McKenzie County Hockey Club

• Obtain a login and password.  Then you will receive emails and other important information from the McKenzie County Hockey Club.  Also download the SportsEngine app to get team calendars right on you Smart Phone.

Step 2:  Register with USA Hockey

• Cost:  $46 to USA Hockey + $15 to the NDAHA
• All coaches must register each season with USA Hockey.  Save your USA Hockey Confirmation Number from the registration process. 

Step 3:  Create a New USA Hockey Account

• This is an entirely new system so all coaches will need to create a new account with USA Hockey

Step 4:  Register for Coaching Clinic

• All coaches must attend (in person or online) a coaching clinic yearly until reaching Level 4.  Depending on when they received Level 4 status, they may have to do continuing education every 3 years.

Step 5:  Complete Age-Specific Modules

• Age-specific modules must only be completed if you have not taken the module for the age group you are coaching at any time in the past. 
• These modules MUST be completed prior to the start of practice or any other team activities. 

Step 6:  Complete SafeSport Training

• SafeSport Training refresher is needed every year
• Login to SafeSport to check on what you need to complete for the upcoming season. 

Step 7:  Complete NDAHA Background Check

• https://www.usahockey.com/backgroundscreen 

• USA Hockey has already entered your self-registration ID number on the first page of the screen. You do not need to change this number.

In addition, we will continue to offer a temporary card that will extend your current certification for the 2020-21 season without attending a clinic. This option will be offered untill December 31, 2020.  Please click here to register for the temporary card online and submit to the USA Hockey national office.

This is a great time to get the following accomplished as the rinks start to open:

• Complete the appropriate Age-Specific Training Module (if necessary) for the level of play that you are coaching usahockey.com/agespecificmodules
