Ice is available for rental when there are no games or practices.

$40/HR discount applies if a Renter is a MCHC-approved Zamboni driver or aligns a MCHC-approved Zamboni driver to come clean the ice after their rental at no cost to the club.

Rentals are paid in full and will be booked through Nikki, MCHC scheduler to avoid conflict.

The McKenzie County Hockey Club (MCHC) agrees to provide the requested rink (Dave Hansen Arena or Community Rink) to the Lessee at the scheduled date and time. The Lessee may not sublease or transfer the reserved time.

2. Compliance with Rules

The Lessee agrees to comply with all MCHC rules, policies, and posted facility regulations.

3. Supervision

The Lessee must provide proper supervision to ensure the safety of participants and protection of property. For youth activities, at least one adult (18 years or older) must be present in the rink at all times.

4. Enforcement of Agreement

If MCHC must enforce any portion of this agreement, the Lessee agrees to pay all associated expenses incurred by MCHC including reasonable attorney fees and court costs.

5. Liability

The Lessee is responsible for all personal property, accidents, injuries, damages, or loss occurring during the rental period.

The Lessee agrees to indemnify and hold harmless MCHC, its board members, volunteers, and representatives from any claims resulting from facility use.

For large or recurring events, the Lessee may be required to provide liability insurance naming MCHC as an additional insured.

6. Facility Condition

The facility must be left in a clean and orderly condition. If MCHC staff must clean after the rental, a custodial fee of $35 per hour will be charged.

7. Damage Responsibility

The Lessee is responsible for the full cost to repair or replace any property damaged during the rental period excluding normal wear and tear.

8. Concessions and Alcohol

Food or concessions may not be sold without prior written approval from MCHC. Alcohol is prohibited unless approved by the MCHC Board of Directors.

9. Facility Access

Unless otherwise approved, rentals include the ice surface and designated locker rooms only.

10. Payment

All rental fees must be paid in full at the time of application.

11. Safety Requirements

All hockey participants must wear a properly fitted hockey helmet while on the ice and follow all safety rules.

12. MCHC Authority

MCHC reserves the right to conduct spot checks of events and to refuse or cancel rental applications at the sole discretion of the Board of Directors.

13. Rental Time Limits

The Lessee agrees to end the rental session at the scheduled time. Additional time used may result in additional charges.

Additional Policies

14. Security / Damage Deposit

MCHC reserves the right to require a security or damage deposit for certain rentals, camps, tournaments, or special events. Deposits may be used to cover damages, excessive cleaning, unpaid fees, or violations of this agreement.

15. Locker Room Supervision

For youth activities, locker rooms must be supervised by an adult (18 years or older) at all times. The Lessee is responsible for ensuring appropriate conduct and preventing damage.

16. Outside Instructors, Camps, and Training

All outside instructors, camps, clinics, or training sessions must receive prior approval from the MCHC Board of Directors before operating within the facility.

17. Private Instruction and Skills Coaching

No private instructors, trainers, skills coaches, camps, or clinics may conduct instruction without prior approval from both the MCHC Hockey Director and the MCHC Board of Directors.

All instruction must be scheduled as a separate facility rental and follow all rental rates and policies.

Outside instructors may not solicit or advertise services to MCHC participants within the facility without approval from the Hockey Director and the MCHC Board.

Cancellation Policy

A. Cancellation by MCHC

MCHC reserves the right to cancel agreements for failure to comply with terms of this contract. No refund will be issued.

B. Weather or Facility Conditions

If weather or rink conditions are unsafe, MCHC may cancel the rental. MCHC will attempt to reschedule or issue a refund if rescheduling is not possible.

C. Cancellation by Lessee

Fourteen (14) days written notice must be given for cancellation. If the time can be resold, the Lessee will not be charged. If not resold, the Lessee remains responsible for payment.
